TWD Chocolate Bread Pudding
This weeks recipe was selected by Lauren of Upper East Side Chronicle. I used Challah bread and followed the recipe. We are visiting our 5 grandchildren in Colorado and they loved it. I tasted, but it is not a favorite recipe in the book. Nevertheless, I am certain that many bakers really enjoyed this different bread pudding. I will be traveling back home next week, so I will pass on the Chocolate Cream Tart. Happy baking and I will see you in May!

I had fun baking for the Confirmation celebration of my oldest grandaughter. I found a cookbook at the library, The Cake Book, Tish Boyle. A lemon cake and a chocolate cake were requested by the grandkids. There is an excellent German Chocolate Cake in the book, not using German chocolate, but using natural cocoa powder and bittersweet chocolate. It has the traditional Coconut Pecan Filling and then a bittersweet chocolate frosting on the sides. It was devoured and was really delicious.

The other is called Lemon Lust Cake and is a lot of work, but worth every minute. I used Dorie's Lemon Curd recipe for one of the components. There is a lemon cream cheese filling, a lemon syrup and a buttercream frosting. WOW! What a treat for lemon lovers. I would be happy to send the recipes to any interested TWD bakers or buy the book; I think I will. Have a great week!

What area of Mexico do you live in? My mother-in-law lives south of Guadalajara, on Lake Chapala. She loves it there.
