Daring Cooks Challenge September, 2010 - Apple Butter


John of Eat4Fun challenged us to experiment with and learn about food preservation. His presentation of information is excellent and one to file away for future reference. I made Apple Butter and froze it for preservation. Other than peeling the apples, the recipe is easy and would allow for some experimentation with spices. My grandmother always made Apple Butter. Preparing this recipe reminded me of her in her simple farm kitchen. Thank you John for an excellent challenge. lola

  3. Love the looks of your apple butter! I can apple butter, peach butter and a pear butter with red hot candies melted while the pear butter cooks, making a delicious holiday treat. So FUN! BTW, welcome to the ABC baking group. Our next cake is going to be delicious, especially if you enjoy oranges. Flo Braker is such an amazing baker.
