Whitney of What's Left on the Table selected this weeks TWD recipe Caramel Crunch Bars.
I really like the cookie base on this one. I could not get Heath Toffee Bits here in Mexico, so I used a caramel filled with a bit of chocolate and cut them up, sprinkled on top and put it back into the warm oven for a few minutes until the caramel melted. Then I thought it needed a bit more crunch, so I added some chopped walnuts pressing them into the chocolate and melted caramel. Remembering the Peace cookies and how I like the Fluer de Sel, I sprinkled some salt on the top.
A good choice Whitney and one I will make again experimenting with some different toppings.

Your crunch bars look great. Mine didn't quite turn out, but it wasn't the recipe, it was me! Totally me.
