
I wish my Swedish friend, Kristy, lived closer as I would bake this cake for her. Nancy of The Dogs Eat the Crumbs selected this easy and delicious recipe for TWD this week. I used the lemon zest, vanilla and a bit of almond extract. I baked it in my Hess pottery pie plate. I love the look and feel of this pie plate. I did find that it took about 10 minutes longer to bake than the recipe called for. My oven temperature is correct, but after 30 minutes, it was more than "slightly damp" as Dorie said. It was yummy served warm shortly after baking. Thank you Nancy. Have a good week TWD bakers. lola
It would be so interesting to see what Kristy thought of this cake. From what I've been reading, it is a fairly common cake in Sweden. Yours is so pretty - that pie plate looks wonderful. Thanks for baking along with me this week.
