ABC Blender Cupcakes. This is a super easy recipe and I have made it several times to gift. This was a selection for March for Avid Bakers. ABC recipes are from The Weekend Baker.
Irish Soda Bread from Baking with Julia.
Tuiles just for fun! I gifted them to a friend for her dinner party.
These are the best bagels from Baking with Julia. This was not an assignment, but I love making these for brunch to serve by the pool with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Yum!
Scones from The Weekend Baker, the May selection. I added grated lemon rind and golden raisins. They are light and easy to prepare.
I served this Pecan and Marzipan Gelato Cake for a dinner party. It was an amazing rich, but still light frozen dessert. Everyone loved it. The recipe is from a book in my library, A Celebration of Women Chefs by Julie Stillman. I am not certain that it is still in print. If not, I would be happy to share the recipe. What could beat Paella for a party? I referred to several recipes in my collection and created my own version. This was delicious with grilled chicken thighs which I had rubbed with a dried chili rub that I had made. Also, there was chorizo, shrimp, mussels and grilled portobello mushrooms with rice, herbs and seasonings.
Well, as you can see that I am still having issues with setting up my blog and photos. We are off to Boulder, Colorado later this month and I intend to spend quite a bit of my time in the Apple store getting up to speed or asking my grandchildren to help me. There is no Apple store here in Puerto Vallarta.
Greetings to all my ABC and TWD baking friends for a lovely Spring or Fall, wherever, you are. Take care, lola
Wow, you've been a busy (baking) bee, Lola! Everything looks great. I'm glad you liked this month's Scones recipe for ABC. Happy travels!
ReplyDeleteLemon zest must give the scones a nice flavor, too.

ReplyDeleteHi Lola!
ReplyDeleteI'm Joy from "Hot Oven, Warm Heart," and I just became a member of ABC. I’m so happy to be a part of the group, and make some new blogging baker friends- hopefully you included.
I'm super impressed, not only by your scones, but all the other delicious looking recipes you've made recently. Bagels have been on my must-make list for a long time- yours look beautiful... I'd love if you share any tips you have. I also loved the Pecan and Marzipan Gelato Cake- Wow, is that impressive. Great way to end a dinner party.
If you have a chance, I'd love it if you'd stop by and check out my scones too! Hope to hear from you soon. Have a great weekend!
Fondly,
Joy
