TWD - Basic Marbled Loaf Cake

The selection this week is "basic", but as always Dorie gives many ideas in her "Playing Around" notes. I really like that aspect of the book. Well, I went pretty basic in preparing a traditional marble loaf. I want to gift this to my chocolate loving friend, so there was no option other than chocolate. Marble cakes are always a guess as to how they will turn out. I used one of Dorie's suggested methods for marbling and it turned as unexpected as I expected, as you can see from my photo. An easy to prepare cake with the usual ingredients. I used the pan size that Dorie suggested and it was bit small, so next time I will adjust the pan size. Nevertheless, my friend will love it. Next week a bundt cake. My bundt pan is getting a workout. I think I need to buy one of another design just for fun.
