TWD - Fig Cake for Fall

Cornmeal, honey, ruby port and figs - what a great combination. Fresh figs are poached in port and honey then a sauce is made from the poaching liquid to drizzle over the cake when serving. Cornmeal adds a nice crunch and it is an easy to bake cake with the figs on top. Sprinkle with a little powdered sugar and serve with a dollop of whipped cream then the drizzle of port sauce. My guests enjoyed this cake and were able to take some home with them. They said it was delicious the next day. Thank you Ursula of Cookie Rookie for your selection. Have a Happy Halloween. I am off to bake cookies. Our neighbor is having a party for local children. Take care, lola
